Community Workshops

Meg has developed and lead various projects in the community, focusing on art that goes beyond traditional spaces and takes place in everyday life.

Over the past 4 years Meg has worked with organisations such as Manchester Art Galleries, RHS Bridgewater, Women’s Voices CIC, Levenshulme Inspire Centre, Platt Fields Market Garden, Bluebell Green Community Garden and Dr. Kershaw’s Hospice in Oldham.

  • The Nightbird Project - Dr Kerhshaw's Hospice

    The Nightbird Project is a creative wellbeing project, for people with life-limiting illnesses. For the final session of 2023 we created a large mosaic to be displayed in the hospice’s wellbeing centre.

  • Mug Making at Platt Hall

    Staff, volunteers and visitors each made a mug, in a series of pottery sessions. A total of a 30 handmade mugs now live at the Hall to be used and cherished.

  • Bowl Making with Platt Hall and the Robert Derbyshire GP

    Local patients from the Roberyt Derbyshire GP took part in a series of pre-diabetes wellbeing sessions, including making and glazing their own portion sized bowl.

  • Playing with Clay at Bluebell Green Community Garden

    While we worked on a larger sculpture in the garden, children crafted bowls and animals from terracotta clay.

  • Workshops at Platt Fields Market Garden

    Mugs, vases, plates and bowls were all made over a series of many workshops at Platt Fields Market Garden. Sometimes using clay dug from the ground and processed by participants.

  • Young People's nature project - RHS Bridgewater

    Young people visited RHS Bridgewater as part of a wider programme, and were tasked with capturing their creative responses to information about climate change, and the role that plants and nature play in making cities and their citizens more resilient to the impacts of climate change.
